QUESTION:   I registered directly (without Facebook Connect).  Now I’d like to register with Facebook Connect so I can take advantage of other features and connect with my friends more easily.  Can I do that?

ANSWER:       Yes.  As long as the email address you signed up with on UnSpun is associated with your Facebook account. If that's the case, when you connect with Facebook, your old account information (and all of your lists, votes, favorites, and comments) will be associated with your Facebook account.

If you used a different email account to sign in on UnSpun than you do with Facebook, the easiest thing to do is change the UnSpun email to match the Facebook email.  To do this, sign in on UnSpun and click the 'My Account' link (upper right of the page).  Then change the email account.

QUESTION:  I don’t want my name that I use on Facebook to appear in the UnSpun application.  Can I change it?

ANSWER:       Yes.  If you log in using Facebook Connect, you can modify your username.  Just go into “My Account” and then enter the username you prefer under Change Your Username.

QUESTION:   Why do you let people (or why should I) register using Facebook Connect?

ANSWER:       Using “Connect with Facebook” gives you access to additional features—seeing lists your “Friends” have created and see your “Friends” opinions on a given list topic.  It also gives you the opportunity to post your lists into your Facebook newsfeed.

QUESTION:   Can I edit an item on a list once I've published it?

ANSWER:       No.  Once a list item is published, it cannot be changed—this is because after people vote to support an item, we don’t want the item they voted for modified in any way.

QUESTION:   If I don’t like the way the items on a My Spin items are sorted, can I change their order?

ANSWER:       Yes.  The “drag” icon on the right of each item on you’re My Spin page allows you to drag and drop a list item in any position that you wish.

QUESTION:   If I want to remove an item from a My Spin page, can I remove it?

ANSWER:       Yes.  If you expand the item (click on it) you will be given the option to remove it?

QUESTION:   I found two list items on the same list that are talking about the same thing.  Can these be merged?

ANSWER:       Yes.  If you expand the list item (by clicking on it) you will see an option that says “duplicate item”.   Follow the instructions and an editor will review it before the change is made.

QUESTION:   Can I create a list and not let people add their own list items?

ANSWER:       Yes.  At the bottom of the “Start a New List” Form, you can check the box that says “Prevent others from adding content to this list”.  This will allow people to vote their opinions but NOT add new items to the list.

QUESTION:   Can I create a list and not let people vote on the list items?

ANSWER:       No.  If you think this would be a nice feature, let us know here.

QUESTION:   Can I change a list that I started?

ANSWER:       Yes.  If you are logged in as the person who started a list, you can click “edit list” in the lower right corner of the list.  From there you will be able to edit the list title, descriptions, etc..  You are not able to edit list items however.

QUESTION:   Why do you require registration?

ANSWER:       We require registration to prevent fraud and to maintain high content quality.

Registration is required to start a new list, or to contribute a list item or vote on an existing list.  It is also required when you wish to add comments or share lists with friends.

You privacy is extremely important to us.  We will not share your personal information with third parties.

QUESTION:   Can I remove a list I started?

ANSWER:       No.  Once a list is published, it cannot be removed.  We don’t allow this because after you publish a list, other people will create their version of the list (as part of MySpin).

QUESTION:   There is a person who is always abusive/profane/annoying in the comments and I've flagged them, yet nothing ever happens?  Why isn't something done?

ANSWER:       We appreciate you flagging content that is inappropriate.  We have a limited staff but do review all content that is flagged and will get to yours shortly.  If we see repeated inappropriate postings from one of our users, we may cancel their account.
